Women’s Day Senior Support Initiative - March
On March 10th, in celebration of International Women’s Day, Shishu Vikas Foundation launched the “Women’s Day Senior Support Initiative.” The program focused on providing essential ration kits and kitchen equipment to senior women citizens, particularly those in underserved communities, to ensure they live with dignity, comfort, and independence.
Highlights of the Day:
- Ration Kits Distribution: Senior women received carefully packed ration kits containing staple food items such as rice, pulses, cooking oil, and spices, helping them meet their nutritional needs.
- Kitchen Equipment Support: To make daily chores easier, the foundation distributed essential kitchen equipment, including cooking utensils, vessels, and other tools to improve their cooking experience.
- Health & Wellness: Volunteers provided information about healthy eating, self-care tips, and staying active in later years, promoting overall well-being.
- Celebrating Women: The initiative recognized and celebrated the resilience of senior women, honoring their contributions to family and society.
- Community Engagement: The event fostered a sense of community and care as volunteers interacted with the senior citizens, offering companionship and emotional support.
The “Women’s Day Senior Support Initiative” aimed to empower and uplift senior women, providing them with the resources they need to live a healthier, more fulfilling life. Through this effort, we continue to show our gratitude and respect for the strength and wisdom of the women who have shaped our lives.
